I am a capitalist
People need to earn their own wages and wealth controls our society

If nobody posts here then my rate of profit will not increase

Capitalism works because it is based on one underlying foundation, Human Greed. Therefore, capitalism is the only realistic economic system, and allows for inventive people to make a lot of money. And etc. Capitalism, it works.

What I don't understand is socialism
Its pretty much as close to communism that it might aswell be communism

Something once said about the USA, our only religion is money. After all, we have IN GOD WE TRUST right on it. Something that seems to be partly correct at the very least.

CAPITALISM! Every bone in my body is capitalist. That's really the only realistic type of economy when you think about it. Should Joe the Plumber make the same amount as Joe the Freeloading Asswipe? And of course, the answer is no. Socialism takes out the competition in society, so we wouldn't have as many inventors coming up with new ideas. If everything was socialist, no one would give a damn because they would receive their meager salary regardless.

i think that if you make 500,000 a year, you should be taxed more.

call me crazy. but if you can have 3 of the car of your dreams, and a nice house, and be in a good city and be financially sound for years to come, then you should pa more into the system
people are only capitalist because they are the privileged few that are doing well in life.

HOWEVER, octo-mom should get NOTHING!!!! it was her FVCKING fault she wanted more kids. i say we kill her, and harvest her organs.
but the people who get laid off from a crappy job and are trying to get their lives in order, yes, the rich and well off should pay more to help them out

Welfare is something that has the massive potential to work. We need to reform it, but that way we get the people who are hard workers how are just down on their luck aid. But as for the multi-million dollar making people, they SHOULD NOT get taxed more! In most cases, those are the people that applied themselves in school, paid an arm and a leg for college, and then spent their lives perfecting their trade. It is people like that who EARNED the money they have. Of course, it is a FANTASTIC thing to invest your money in those less fortunate if you make that kind of money, but it should not be required. It's more of a moral thing. And just so you know, Brute, some people are privileged to be where they are, but the VAST majority of people who make a lot of money are people who worked very hard in life. I don't think that should be held against them, and I DEFINITELY don't think we should take his money and give it to slackers who decided they would rather snort coke than do their homework.

Well the way I see it, we shouldn't have a benchmark for taxes. It shouldn't be "Well, you make 200k or more. You will pay this much!". It should be on a percentile, where the higher paid people pay higher taxes, but it is proportional. That way we don't bleed poor/middle class dry, but upper class pays enough. Good thing I'm learning to not give a rats ass about politics, because I don't want to argue with you. The way I see it, the government isn't perfect and common people like us aren't going to change it, so we all need to have fun and agree on the fact that we are proud americans and we believe in a capitalist society where people have the freedom to go out and find opportunity, even though it's kinda hard right now.

well, i agree with the MOST PURE form of communism. Where, byd, you would work at a job, then you would make a product, i would trade you equally for that product with my product or service. communism in its most raw form is brilliant, but there are power hungry dickheads that have to ruin it of everybody

Yea communism, in theory, would be perfect. But it's not. It will never be perfect. that is why capitalism is the economy of choice - it gives people the best opportunity to live financially secure

Capitalism works because people are greedy, which is the problem with communism, power corrupts, and ultimate power corrupts absolutely.

Communism is socialism with an authoritative government. Social democracy is socialism with a democratic government. Pure capitalism and pure socialism are both pretty rough. A balance is generally preferred. The American government is mostly capitalistic. Things like schools, hospitals, welfare, etc. are socialistic leanings. The American government tends to stay as capitalistic as possible while maintaining certain socialistic elements that are seen as more necessary and beneficial (such as a public education system). Some would like to see more socialistic leanings (better health care, for example) while others would like to see more capitalistic leanings (less government spending and economic involvement in general). Personally I think there is a a shade from about 80% capitalism to 50% capitalism that all works out pretty fine but I'm not incredibly experienced in such things. I do know some social democracies work out very well for the country and its people and more capitalistic governments (like the one I am a part of) do relatively well also.

Lol that made me laugh VC, the Kreator part. I almost completely agree with you, well said. While we need to have free-trade capitalism to encourage creativity and competition, we need to also ensure that Americans have basic necessities. But, going full-blown communism "everyone gets the same wage" is pointless and will take away from our society as a whole
