Checking out the new Machine Head, it leaked & it's not bad kinda weird with the opera/choir beginning.

Unto the Locust is pretty good... right up until Who We Are ruins the album at the end. I expected to hate the album to be honest but they've changed since the Blackening, UtL has a different feel to it: lLess groove, more technicality.
Oh and yeah, I'm back from my second stint in Japan!
NP: This Town Needs Guns - Baboon
Probably my favourite band at the minute, Tim Collins is a freaking genius. I consider myself to be a talented guitarist, at least in terms of techincal ability, but this is freaking crazy, I couldn't play this in my wildest dreams,

I love that band. Although it gets old quick. Like a more math-rock version of Minus the Bear or Sharks Keep Moving

British Sea Power - Valhalla Dancehall (album)
I've grown more into rock/alt/post-hardcore... basically anything that isn't metal. I fucking love this band.

I'm obviously a massive fan of Skeletonwitch, but I think the production on the new album is pretty bad. It's far too clean for the style of music. The music itself is excellent, but I don't like the crystal clean production quality with this type of music. The new Absu album got the production right. Still, top notch album

I'm listening on vinyl and I love the production. The warmth of vinyl and clear production means the music really opens up and it sounds amazing given the proper set up.
I'm not liking Abzu as much as Absu. I wasn't put off when they changed the line up a few years back and loved the last album but I'm not feeling Abzu as much: it's solid but doesn't have the punch I'm looking for.
