Unicorn Kid and the Chiptunes Genre

Chiptunes are an interesting genre in which music is created out of oldschool Nintendo/Atari soundFX.
It's not very popular, but some of the prominent artists are Unicorn Kid, Anamanaguchi, Binärpilot, She, RushJet1, Bit Shifter and Dubmood. Look 'em up in last fm, if you like 'em.

For convenience, I posted my two favorite chiptune songs. Lion Hat and Helix Nebula.

I can't listen to it because of stupid "nintendocore" bands, so I'm always expecting to hear some stupid asshole start screaming and breakdowns.

I'm interested. I'll have to check it out some. And I don't see what it has to do with nintendocore...but I don't use that term anyways.

The beats in that first song sounded very very familiar. Is that a common sound in a lot of this kind of music? I don't know. I'll figure out soon enough.

It just reminds me of it because they also use 8/16 bit stuff

Sounds great but I have a friend who is a huge 8bit music fan so I'm familiar.. and on that note Nintendocore owns.

I like but then again I pretty much love all video game music. I feel like such a nerd most of the time bc I will be listening to my video game music full i-pod.

lol. this is awesome. i love this kind of stuff. any of you guys hear about a band called powerglove? they take videogame music and just make metal versions of them. i saw them live with sonata arctica and mutiny within. very tight and very fun band. here ill post some of there stuff.
