Want a General Music Forum?

I noticed that when we share songs that are not metal. Not too many people will actually listen to the OP (original posters) song. They will usually share their own song from that genre since they are not a specific fan. Plus, I think its good to be diverse

Yes. i vote yes, although everytime I try to bring up something that's not metal almost nobody cares to look. Not sure how popular it'd be, but i definitely vote yes

i have told you, the forum is acting up a bit. i dont notice that there are new threads. i dont ignore them, i dont know they exist.

Well i pretty much joined his forum because he said he wanted to make a webzine, i figured that would be kinda cool to be a part of.

Yeah I am looking for people to write reviews, concert reviews, articles on music anything like that. On anything, new old whatever, if your interested you can PM me.

Okay BYD, here's my reasoning. There are a lot of musicians here. We appreciate a lot of music that isn't just metal. The forum is already "Metal and Rock", and the vast majority of what is put on it fits one of those categories. But, some of us musicians enjoy discussing various things that aren't metal, such as metal's roots in blues. I also believe i speak for everyone when I say it is great to get feedback and help from other musicians on music theory or when we are writing music. That's why I think it would be nice to have just a general "Music" forum for those of us who enjoy those things. Another good reason is to separate it out, because I know there are some people who don't want all the musical gibberish clogging the forums and who don't enjoy other genres as much. This way we can keep things separate.

they migth be a high chance to become a REGULAR FORUM...ppl will start posting Pop music and stuff...i think it would be a sellout IMO.

Yeah I see your point but I think classic rock deserves its own space. That way people can actually go there to look instead of just ignoring it on the rock forum

i see your point...i had the same problem..with my Black metal posts being ignored...
but i learned to live with it

It would be expected that people would join this because they are metal heads. I didnt know we had a creative endeavors till i joined. So i doubt people would post hip hop. If they did they would feel the wrath of me! But yeah a sub forum would be nice

Well i cant see hannah montanna lovers joining a metal forum in the first place so i dont find thats a problem.

I think the clientel of this forum would prevent that ^_^

axe, this is getting on my nerves. i dont think we ignore it. i think the forum is mal-loading and we dont see that there is a new topic.

and excuse me for being rude, but maybe people dont want to watch classic rock clips. maybe we want to **** around and not do anything. i have been shot down plenty of times about certain bands i listen too. yeah, it sucks, but that doesnt make it any less good in my eyes.

im sorry for kinda exploding like that. but im with IB, i think that if we make a forum for certian genres, i would explode and we would need 100's of forums.
to also set the record straight, there was always a lot of black metal threads, and i never once read them cuse i didnt like black metal. im not singling out you axe.

Dude i'm not complaining, and i never once b!tched about you not replying to a thread. That's bs. I mean ignore as in "not read it" because it's in a metal forum and you don't want to. I meant if we have a separate one, you won't have a chance to ignore it, because you will have to go to that forum to find it! Catch what I am saying? That's exactly what I mean, we have different ones so people who don't like that particular one doesn't have to weed out the ones they care about. I honestly don't read or reply to the black metal ones either, so it's not a big deal. I'm not complaining. And i'm also not saying we need a forum for rap, a forum for pop, a forum for country, a forum for blues, etc. I'm just saying if we have another forum just titled "Music" or something, we can post whatever we want there. People know if they post hiphop, no one will read it. it will just be for musicians and stuff to discuss other musical genres and artists, because lets face it, every musician is influenced by more than their particular genre. And that's another reason, so we could post about classic stuff that you and other might not particularly care to learn about.

Your black metal threads get ignored? I'm not aware of missing any myself. You could try doing what a lot of other people are doing and start daily/weekly thread. "IB's BM #1" or "Black Metal Music #1" or "Classical Black Metal #1" etc. I used to do song lists but now I've been doing albums which I like better but the song lists were worth it just to get some of the variety out there.

I'm on a forum that has many sub forums and works just fine that is an all metal forum.
