My Trip To Boston Empty
PostSubject: My Trip To Boston   My Trip To Boston I_icon_minitimeFri Jul 25, 2014 3:14 pm

My buddy James and I went to Boston for a week and I just got back a few hours ago. Who cares about sleep? We originally had a party of 4 and 2 of them bailed. Honestly, it couldn't have gone any better.

As soon as we arrive we literally just get our keys and run into a group of 5 Russian girls. They ask us to phone a cab for them. Originally I thought they were messing with us because: its a group of girls, they were all dressed up and we looked knackered. Turns out they genuinely needed some help. Turns out they were going to a Little John concert. I lol'd when I heard one of them say "Turn down for what" in the thickest Russian accent. Turns out they were staying in the same hotel and wanted to go to the beach the next day. We agreed. Long freaking drive. The van we had didn't have enough seats so we had 2 Russians in the trunk for several hours. Jokes. I thought they all sounded like Bond villains so I asked if I could record them saying "Mr. Bond we've been expecting you, we have a problem". It turned out sounding like "Mr. Bond we've been expecting you we have some problems". I am going to cherish that video. Water was freaking freezing but who cares.

The next day we had planned on going to a Red Sox ticket game and we had a very quick goodbye with our Russian friends. They were going for breakfast but we were kind of in a rush to get downtown. It was a little sad but I think 1 or 2 of the girls wanted to keep moving in their own agenda which was fine. They were great people I'll miss them for sure.

Anyways so we're going to see the Red Sox right? We have no tickets. We planned on scalping our way in. So there are all kinds of freaking people everywhere. We by fluke get a standing ticket for about $30 each and the space to stand fucking sucks. I'm exhausted from driving for so long and now we're about to stand through a 3.5 hour game. Suddenly these Europeans that were next to us started asking us questions as they didn't know how baseball worked. We spoke to them for probably 2 minutes and suddenly this girl that works with the stadium approaches us and says "Are you guys in a group together? A season ticket holder with VIP seats didn't show up would you like them?"

Holy hell how are we this lucky? First we run into a group of Russian girls in 5 seconds. Then we go to a baseball game with a huge fanbase with no tickets 15 minutes before the game and get upgraded to some of the best seats.

So after the game we invite these folks over to our hotel, eat food, drink alcohol. Then we meet the next day and see Harvard and whatnot. We also got onto Harvard's football field. Which I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to do.

We have our final night with these guys and say goodbye. They said if we ever want to visit them in Belgium that they will happily show us around. I am destined to take them up on this offer. These guys were fantastic. We went to this pub that was hidden underground during the prohibition era. It was extremely hard to find and super expensive but boy did I feel cool.

Next day we were a little bit bummed out. Everything felt like a movie and this was the part where our luck surely had to ease. We actually started seeing tourist shit which was boring but part of a trip. An interesting note. We visited the U.S.S constitution boat and you needed ID to get in. I accidentally forgot mine and brought James'. James went first and when I produced my ID it was a picture of him and they US Army Solider who checked didn't notice anything and told me to proceed. Jokes.

The next day we went to a brewery and were sick of not meeting friends again. So we sat next to a group of people who turned out to be Slovakians and made friends with them and played drinking games with them. We met them downtown later for more drinks, they were pretty tired from travelling but still a good time.

The final day we wanted to go back to the prohibition place. However we got there at noon and it didn't open until 5pm. Fuck. We did notice that the Beligan's hostel was just down the street. So we bought a six pack and just walked into the place as if we were sleeping there and drank on the patio for hours. we helped ourselves to the popcorn, movie theater, and free drinks in the facility. It was pretty hilarious. If anyone asked what we were doing we'd probably reply "Drinking beer, what does it look like?" It was pretty awesome facility, glad we were able to do so much in there while not even having a room booked or be questioned by staff. In fact we even asked the staff for more cups. Rofl. Confidence

We had our hotel booked for Thursday night but we said fuck it and drove home all night because who cares.

Oh man its going to kill me going back to work on Monday.

Every day that passes I'm going to be pissed that another trip isn't already booked. It was definitely a combination of the city being great, and us just having a good mentality to find something fun to do and it attracted others with similar goals in mind
