I have no idea why it's taken me so long, but I finally checked them out a lot more on YouTube and, my god, they fucking rule!

So...album recommendations?

Batallions of Fear
Nightfall in Middle Earth
A Twist in the Myth


Those are my favorites, and go through pretty much all of their styles

Awesome. I'll download them when I get the chance. I have Battalions Of Fear and I thought it was pretty good but when I checked out their other stuff, I realised they have a lot of songs in quite different styles.

Plus, they're awesome live from what I've seen.

Check out the first like... 5 albums then you can just skip the rest.

I like the stuff I've heard from A Twist In The Myth and At The Edge Of Time. Not sure what albums most of the songs are from but I've enjoyed pretty much everything I've heard.

Stay away from A Twist in the Myth and A Night at the Opera because those albums suck. Instead check out Somewhere Far Beyond and Imaginations from the Other Side.

I'll probably check out A Twist In The Myth to at least give it a chance. I liked Another Stranger Me so I'm interested to see what the rest of the album's like.

On Topic though, Battalions of Fear is a must, so I'm glad you've heard that (one of my all time favorite records).

Other awesome records include Follow the Blind, Somewhere far beyond, and Imaginations. They definitely have good stuff.

you can pretty much listen to anything. you cant go wrong in my opinion. there are a lot of haters for twist but im pretty sure its that album everyone says they hate and secretly love. i love that album. ive actually had otherland stuck in my head all day oddly enough. night at the opera is good too in my opinion. soulforged is an excellent song. Also when you have the time to give it a serious listen, you got to check out "and then there was silence" - for me it parellels mana sometimes in epicness and is almost as long. it takes a few listens though to truely start "feeling" it i think- but thats true for alot of BG stuff for me. just go to a playlist on youtube and start listening.

I'm pretty sure all of Blind Guardian is awesome.

I really like the first two albums and Imaginations. I also like the third album quite a bit but it grew on me some. I haven't heard any others yet really. I heard some of Night Opera or whatever it was but wasn't as into it. I still need to give it a more fair listen though.

Follow The Blind and and then Imaginations I say. Then the rest.

songs from twist are still stuck in my head. dont underestimate it. its been pretty much the whole summer... and now that i look back at it, i realize how true that is. lol blind guardian is just fucking amazing
