But once you get past that, what else is there to the song? It's basically just sweeps and breakdowns. No lasting riffs, or anything. I also don't understand why that stuff is still called tech death because it's more shred than technical. Everything just seems to be in 4/4, pretty standard rhythms, but you'll get some gravity blasts and sweeps whih for some reason equals technical. Wtf?
Yeah, T3h Shred Boiz have been a recurring gag on on this other forum I go to. And yeah, both Psychotogen and Pavor are massive win.

Well I think this quote sums up exactly what I think.
"To put it more simply, it's how the riff sounds and the song sounds, not what's being played to make that sound. The bottom line is that it's not a talent show. It's fucking death metal. I always think the best music is when people are just finding a way to make the instrument express how they feel." - John McEntee of Incantation

Teh Shr3d Boiz is the band of Ron on the Metalscape podcast.
I was listening to Atheist last night, and thinking to myself: "This is how tech-death should be."

I love tech death, but sometimes it's done quite terribly.

Eh, I'm also really starting to dislike what's considered to be tech these days as well because most of it isn't even technical in a compositional sense. If it has a lot of sweeps = tech
More technical than most modern tech death tbh
