| As the title says what was the last album that just really hit you, be it one you've owned for a while and just never got into or whatever.
For me the most recent ones were
Manntis- Sleep In Your Grave As most of you know I'm a metalcore fan. And this was one of those bands I semi got into a few years ago and then ended up getting the album for free from CM in an order and just kinda stuck it to the side. Gave it a listen not too long ago and realized it was quite fucking good, shame they haven't done anything since this.
Enslaved- Isa Yeah I've owned a digital copy of this album for quite some time and have given it many listens and it just never clicked and finally did Thursday night on a cold dark drive home.
Emperor- IX Equilibrium I've owned this album probably as long as I've had that Manntis album and have just never been impressed not sure why but on the same ride Isa kicked in this one did as well.

| I'd like to say The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR, but it while its an excellent album, it doesn't have the impact of Mabool.
The last album to truly hit me was probably Fragmentary Evidence by Augury. So damn good... |

| For some reason I didn't peg you as an Augury fan. I almost got to go see them live, but I ended up not going to Seattle then. | |

| Mono - Hymn To The Immortal Wind
Not a Metal band but an awe inspiring Post Rock band from Japan, simply a beautiful album and my favourite album released last year...even though I only first heard it a few weeks ago.

| Cosmic Atrophy - Codex Incubus
Sounds like fucking Demilich mixed with Immolation and Timeghoul. Shit's fucking good. These Runemagick albums have a lot of potential but I haven't given them a thorough listen yet.

The last album that "hit" me was Striborg's Southwest Passage thanks to Lord Kur.

CA is beast, because its exactly as you described it, very influenced my Demilich, only it doesn't have Boman's awful vox, which is win. |

| Two more albums that have hit me recently that I neglected to mention.
Sunn O)))-Dømkirke Sunn O)))- Monoliths and Dimensions
While having tried to get into Sunn a number of times I really hadn't hit an entire album but with Portraits recommendation Dømkirke just fucking blew me away at how atmospheric and powerful it was. As a matter of fact the next day I bought MaD which again was fucking brilliant one of the best missed albums of 09 for me.
