a few books. there are tons of stuff on the net. and you can even skip the learning solo part because there are some companies that give you a mentor and the 2 of you work on tasks together and that's the way you learn. plus you get payed by efficiency and stuff like that

oh and i forgot to mention that there are no working hours

first thing - most companies say you don't need any experience in online programming, and that is for some unknown reason true. you learn as you go.

second thing - who mentioned that he should be a roadie??? do you guys even know what kind of work that is? it is the coolest job in the world but not many ppl can withstand it. there are 2 simple rules for roadies:

1st - when you've done 5 gigs, you've done 'em all. after that you're an old worker (see how much ppl quit?! i see guys quit after the first or the second gig! and what's the sad part - most of them are like that because everybody thinks it's easy money. well it's not! and i have a few scars to prove it)

2nd - there are only 3 kinds of ppl. roadies, riggers and everyone else. and only roadies and riggers understand the passion for the job, and the craziness that comes with it!
