PostSubject: Buying a new bass..   Buying a new bass.. I_icon_minitimeWed Oct 22, 2008 2:40 pm

Well i'm buying a new bass guitar and I'm clueless as to the bass market, I want a good but not overly expensive 4-string and I was just wondering if anyone who plays bass or knows someone who does could reccommend a good bass or even company? I'll go up to €300 (like $400 I guess)

Cheers

( also I hope this is the right place to post this, if not move it Smile )

Narrowed it down to two thanks to the advice Smile

http://www.zzounds.com/item--DNEZMM2A

or

http://www.zzounds.com/item--EPIGOTHTB

both the same price so dont worry about that, opinions?

The thing that draws me to the thunderbird is the reviews are all good but the Dean has inlays (not used to playing without em) and I like the explorer style :/

maybe better to take the first one (although it looks like an explorer and any former metallica fan-turned-hater could throw a bottle at you for provoking and reminding everybody of the times when they still played like they should - lousy and james didn't know how to sing. man i miss those times! why wasn't i born 10 years earlier?!). the tunderbird could be a bit more difficult to handle with some sounds since it's goth equipped. and most of those basses sound lousy without the distortion turned all the way up

Ok ill go for the first one, and styx, partly why I wanted that was because it was an explorer and I love metallica, from the beginning to the end (except St. Anger >.<) Smile
